Your hourly rate on RemoteGenies is determined during the pre-vetting process and is based on several factors to ensure fairness, competitiveness, and alignment with client expectations.
1. Experience Level
We assess your professional background, years of relevant work experience, and portfolio quality. Genies are grouped into:
- Entry Level (0–3 years) – For straightforward, repetitive, or beginner-friendly tasks.
- Mid Level (3–5 years) – For specialized work requiring strong technical or creative skills.
- Expert Level (5+ years) – For complex, high-stakes, or strategic projects.
2. Skill Demand & Market Benchmarks
We analyze market rates for Filipino freelancers in your skill category to keep rates competitive while reflecting the value of your expertise.
3. Platform Evaluation & AI Analysis
Our system uses AI to cross-check your:
- Skill assessment results
- Past project performance
Client feedback and ratings
This ensures your rate matches both your proven ability and the demand for your skillset.
4. Genie Category & Specializations
If you have rare or in-demand specializations (e.g., advanced development, niche marketing strategies), your rate may be set higher within your level bracket.
5. Fairness to Clients and Genies
We maintain balanced pricing to:
- Give newcomers a fair chance to compete.
- Reward experienced Genies for their expertise.
- Ensure clients can find talent within their budget.
6. Rate Adjustments
Rates can be reviewed and adjusted:
- After consistently high performance and positive reviews.
- When you upskill or add certified expertise.

Requests for rate adjustments go through the Rate Review Process in your dashboard.
Important: The rate you see in your profile is your gross hourly rate. The platform applies a 30% service fee, and the remaining 70% is your net earnings per billed hour.
