How to communicate with your Genie via GenieChat

Once your Genie has been matched to your task, GenieChat is the dedicated space where you can message them, share files, and keep all project communication in one place.



Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Access GenieChat
    • From your Dashboard, click on the Chat icon in the left-hand menu.
    • This will take you to your list of ongoing task conversations.
  2. Select the Correct Task Chat
    • Each task you post will have its own dedicated chat thread.
    • Locate and click the conversation with your Genie for the task you want to discuss.
  3. Start Messaging
    • Type your message in the chat box at the bottom of the screen.
    • Hit Enter or click the Send button to deliver your message instantly.
  4. Share Files & Attachments
    • Click on the attachment icon (paperclip) to upload documents, images, or other files.
    • Attachments are stored within the chat thread for easy reference.
  5. Tag Your Project Coordinator (if needed)
    • Every task has a dedicated project coordinator to ensure accountability.
    • Type @CoordinatorName in the message to alert them for assistance or updates.
  6. View Chat History
    • All past messages and files remain visible in the thread.
    • You can scroll up to review earlier discussions without losing context.

Tips for Effective Communication

  • Be Specific – Include details about deadlines, requirements, or changes.
  • Use Threads per Task – Avoid mixing topics from different tasks in the same chat.
  • Share Visuals – Screenshots and examples help clarify instructions.
  • Update Regularly – Keep your Genie informed on progress or any changes.

Important Security Note

Once a task is moved to Closed, your Genie will no longer have access to any data, files, or messages exchanged in GenieChat. This is to ensure the privacy and security of all client information.
