How Credits Are Deducted for Tasks

Credits (Wishcoins) are the currency used on RemoteGenies to pay for your Genie’s time. The number of credits deducted depends on the Genie’s experience tier and the number of hours agreed for the task.

1. Experience Tiers and Hourly Rates

Genies are categorized into three tiers, each with its own hourly rate in Wishcoins:

  • Entry-Level – 0 to 3 years experience. Lowest credit deduction per hour.
  • Advanced Level – 3 to 7 years experience. Mid-range credit deduction per hour.
  • Top-Tier Level – 7+ years experience. Highest credit deduction per hour due to extensive expertise.

Even if two Genies have the same USD rate, Wishcoin deductions can differ slightly depending on their tier and the plan you currently have.


2. When Credits Are Deducted

  • Credits are reserved the moment you award a task to a Genie.
  • The reserved amount = Genie’s hourly Wishcoin rate × total hours you’ve agreed upon.
  • This ensures funds are secured for payment when the task is complete.

3. Adjustments During the Task

  • If more hours are needed within the originally agreed scope, the Genie can use the Request for Extension feature in the platform.
  • If the total time will exceed the original agreed hours, the client must send a message to the Project Coordinator so we can make the necessary adjustments from the backend.
  • No additional credits will be reserved or deducted until this backend adjustment is confirmed.
  • If the task finishes early, unused reserved credits are returned to your account.

4. After Task Completion

  • Once you mark the task as completed (or it auto-completes after the 7-day holding period without disputes), the reserved credits are released to the Genie.
  • If there’s a dispute, credits are held until resolution.

5. Example Calculation

You hire an Advanced Level Genie at 0.86 Wishcoins/hour for a 20-hour task:

0.86 Wishcoins × 20 hours = 17.2 Wishcoins reserved

If the Genie finishes in 18 hours:

0.86 Wishcoins × 18 hours = 15.48 Wishcoins deducted

The unused 1.72 WishCoins return to your account.
