How to set your budget and preferred Genie rate
On RemoteGenies, budgets are based on hours needed to complete the task rather than a fixed project price.
Here’s how it works:
When you create a task, you decide how many hours you want the work to take.
Qualified Genies will place bids, indicating:
- How many hours they believe the task will require based on their expertise and experience.
- Their hourly rate (determined by their experience tier).
You can review bids and select the Genie whose proposed timeline, skills, and rate best fit your needs.
Once you and the Genie agree on the estimated hours, the total cost is calculated automatically:
- Total Cost = (Agreed Hours) × (Chosen Genie’s hourly rate).

Important:
Currently, RemoteGenies does not offer fixed-price projects. All tasks are billed hourly.
Genie hourly rates vary depending on their experience level:
- Entry Level – Best for straightforward, repeatable tasks. Lower hourly rate.
- Advanced Level – For specialized work requiring skill but not extensive experience. Moderate hourly rate.
- Top-Tier Level – For highly technical, complex, or strategic projects. Higher hourly rate.
This hourly-based system ensures:
- Flexibility – You can adjust the task scope and hours if needed.
- Fairness – You pay only for the time agreed upon and tracked.
- Transparency – You know exactly how the total cost is calculated before the work starts.
